LUIS PANIAGUA
Luis Paniagua’s musical background spans both Western and Eastern traditions, with a particular focus on Northern India, where he studied under Master T.N. Nagar in 1980. His first encounter with the lyre was in 1974 for the recording of the pioneering album Ancient Greek Music, as a member of Atrium Musicae de Madrid (1972–1982).
Since 1980, he has dedicated himself almost exclusively to composing his own music using numerous instruments from around the world for concerts, theater, dance, documentaries, and films, performing both as a soloist and with other musicians. Since 1999, he has focused on the lyre and voice—a soothing balm and companion in this world along the path of Love, Truth, Beauty, and Purity.
With 28 albums recorded as a composer, his accolades include the World Music Torchbearer Award (USA, 2012), and his album Nanas de Sol was honored as Best Album by the Spanish Academy of Music Arts and Sciences.
His music continues to be a profound inspiration for countless artists due to his mastery of silence as an essential element. In 2022, he celebrated his Golden Jubilee—50 years of performing on stage.
